Bad Mommy

Ouchie, sunburn!
Remember the sunscreen this summer. Even dogs can get sunburned. Here's Lilly after a morning at the beach when I forgot the sunscreen. BAD MOMMY!
Any light colored dog can get a sunburn. Most susceptible places are the nose and head. However, if you have a white dog, it's probably best not to be out during the midday sun. I use kids waterproof sunscreen and apply it(when I remember!!) before leaving the house. Lilly is pretty good about it and doesn't really bother once it's rubbed in. If you're out for a long time, you may have to reapply, just like with kids.
Enjoy your summer fun!

  1. BARK! OUCH Lilly, that looks sensative. I say work it, girl! Give mommy those sad eye's. SHe will feel so guilty you will get all kinds of treats.
My mommy did the same thing on her shoulders this week. She is "ouching" all the time now. But her sad eyes dont work the same on us.

  2. A great reminder!! Especially for Miss Willow who we call our big piglet....as pink as can be (under that fur).

Thanks for stopping by our blog! I'm going to add you to our blogroll, if that's ok.

And BTW....I'm really hoping to do rally with Willow in the future!

  4. maybe I'm a bad mommy too but I don't put sunscreen on Bella and she loves to lay on the sun. I never see it get this pink though. Maybe we live so far north that we're far enough from the sun? :) Thanks for the reminder though!

  5. I've never even thought about this! Is there a sunscreen that you'd recommend?
